How to Make Thanksgiving Enjoyable for Your Pup

With Thanksgiving approaching, you may be looking for some fun things to do with your dog while you’re home for a couple days. Look no further! We’ve made a list of ways you can bond with your furry friend this Thanksgiving season! Let us know what you’ll try first!

What's Thanksgiving without a grand feast?! One of the best ways to spoil your pup is to treat them to a delicious meal, and Thanksgiving is the pawfect time to do so. There are plenty of dog-safe Thanksgiving meal ideas all over the internet. From unseasoned turkey, to sweet potatoes, to green beans, there are plenty of dog-safe Thanksgiving foods you can prepare for your pup!

If you’re a "Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning" type of person, this next idea is just for you. If you love to spend your morning with physical activity, look into signing your dog up for a race/walk as well! Several Turkey Trots have Dog Jogs. These are usually a mile in length and are the perfect way to get you and your pup up and moving! And if you can’t find one near you, just take your furry friend on their own Dog Jog at your favorite park!

Lastly, you want to be sure your dog is comfortable this Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving can often mean lots of guests, cooking, music, and activity. This may stress or overwhelm your pup, especially if they tend to be nervous. We recommend setting up a comfortable space for your dog, a space they can go to when they need to get away from the festivities if even for a moment. Include their bed, blankets, and several of their favorite toys. Make sure they have easy access to food and water and that their potty breaks are around the same times as usual. This can make your dog’s Thanksgiving experience much more enjoyable!
