How We Got Here
It started with a dog named Stone. He was just a nine-week-old Yellow English Lab when he met MetroPaws® co-founder Megan Miquelon. They’d lived together in New York’s Greenwich Village for five years when Megan, a freelance art director, met MetroPaws® co-founder Jon Bolton, then a marketing/PR professional and MBA candidate.
As they split time between Megan’s place in the Village and Jon’s place on the Upper West Side, they found they had a hard time finding services and products for Stone.
“We started by asking around,” says Megan. “Stopping people who were walking their dogs and asking about where the local vets were, where we could find a good groomer, all the things that were important to keeping Stone healthy and happy.”
After some frustration, they realized that there should be one place where they could find all the information on everything they needed.
“Ultimately, we decided that if we wanted to have a place where we could get all that, we would have to do it ourselves,” says Jon. “And that’s how MetroPaws® was born.”

We promise to be environmentally friendly whenever possible. Currently we buy carbon offsets from The Carbon Fund, the nations most respected Carbon footprint reduction organization, to allow for our servers and our shipping to and from our locations to be carbon neutral. We carry & sell only degradable products, hey even our business cards and marketing materials are composed of recycled material and environmentally friendly soy or vegetable based inks.
